$2500 Toilet, WTH?

Apparently, someone at the Los Angeles housing authority thought that it is wise to spend $2500 on a toilet bowl. It’s not even those special kind of toilets but it’s the regular ones that you can get for $100 or less. Of course, the person who did this has now been fired. According to the news, the bidding for this project was rigged so that the brother of the the person in charge got the contract and overpriced it.

I am not against the improvement of this houses but what really is outrageous is the fact that the money spent could have been used in a more practical way. There are a lot of people who depend on this program and now there are lesser resource allocated to them now. How sad. Where is the check and balance when you need it? And what’s next? Do w get to sue them for the difference and return the money to be used more wisely in other projects? People are being too selfish these days.
